Merluna is situated 150 klms Northwest of Coen and 120klms Southeast of the bauxite mining town of Weipa. It is approx 720klm North West of Cairns (by road) and 8 klms off the Peninsula Development Road.

Qantas has flights into Weipa from Cairns daily, and Hire Cars are available in Weipa.

Merluna has a 1000m all weather airstrip situated at co-ordinates 13°03'58"S and 142°27'02"E. Notification of arrival is required.

It's about a 1½ hour drive from Weipa over an unsealed road and around 10 hours from Cairns, with approximately 200klms of unsealed road which can, at times, be rough.

There's a lot to see and do along the way.
